2016 – the year of excitement!

It’s officially 2016 and we’re so excited about our plans for this year! 2015 was a great year – filled with awesome shoots, some boundary-pushing shots, and what else…oh yes, I got married and my wife had a baby. What a whirlwind of a year!

2016 is set to be even more tremendous! Apart from editing some pretty amazing weddings from last year, I’ve started the year off with a stunning couple shoot – Chuene and Mokgadi did an epic rustic farm engagement shoot that’ll be on the blog in a few weeks.

In addition to sharing my work of couples getting married and madly in love on the blog, I’m also planning a blog series specifically for photographers. I’m calling it the ‘What I learnt from…’ blog series: every few months, I’ll feature one of my favourite photographers and explain how their work or business philosophy has inspired me in my business and photography. Each blog series post will also link to a short clip on my Youtube channel (forthcoming) where I’ll explain ‘What I learnt from…’ in under three minutes – a real challenge for a Leb!

And speaking of inspiration, working with some amazing industry-friends for my 2016 styled shoot. I won’t tell you what the theme is yet, only that it’s going to be totally off-the-wall! I’ll give you a clue – it’ll be posted in time for Halloween… I’ll be playing with some incredible lighting setups for that so if there are any budding photographers out there who’d be keen to assist, send Natalie an email (natalie@luketannous.co.za).

I’ll also be featuring my usual column of advice, although Nats will be spearheading that one. We’re thinking of calling it ‘advice from a past bride’. That’s going to be filled with lots of tips based on my experience as a wedding photographer and Natalie’s and my experience of being on the other side of the camera on our wedding day. Some of the articles you can expect include ‘How to make your wedding memorable’, ‘Remember what makes you really beautiful’, and ‘A tribute to moms and dads’.

Here’s to a great 2016 filled with blog posts galore!
